Trustee Candidate

About Leah
I’ve spent more than 20 years in public education as a teacher, mentor, and parent, with much of that time right here in Fort Saskatchewan schools. I know how important it is for students to feel supported, for teachers to have the tools they need, and for families to be heard.
Public schools are the heart of our community—they help kids learn, belong, and grow into confident young people ready for the future. I’m running for trustee because I believe every decision should put students first.

Why Vote for Leah?
I bring a balanced approach to leadership. One that is collaborative, future-focused, and dependable.
Collaborative
Strong schools are built through partnership. As both a teacher and parent, I know that real progress happens when families, staff, and communities work together. I’m committed to open communication, respectful dialogue, and practical solutions that reflect the needs of everyone we serve.
Future-Focused
With over 20 years in education, I understand the importance of planning ahead. I’ll prioritize stability, staff retention, and diverse opportunities so every student can thrive, both now and in the future.
Dependable
Trust is built on consistency. I bring a steady, solutions-focused approach grounded in experience and care. Families and staff can count on me to listen, follow through, and make thoughtful decisions that put students first.
I’m running because I care deeply about public education and the people it serves: students, staff, and families. With experience in the classroom and perspective as a parent, I’m ready to help strengthen Elk Island Public Schools through collaboration, long-term vision, and reliable leadership our community can count on.
